What We Are
LEAD is an inclusive, secular home school organization providing social and educational opportunities to home educated children of all ages and their families, in the metro Atlanta area.
Who We Are
LEAD members are learners, educators, seekers. Member families participate in our organization at the level they choose. Whether joining in classes, taking part in field trips, coming to parent support meetings, or staying connected through our on-line forum, each family gains from LEAD a connection to a vibrant home school community. This is a collaborative venture. LEAD is a not for profit, incorporated, volunteer organization. From our Board of Oversight to our Activity Coordinators, we freely give our time and efforts to advance our purpose – support for educational alternatives for children and their families.
Our Purpose
We aim to create a vibrant home school community and to increase positive awareness about home education in the community at large by:
- Providing educational activities such as classes, cultural arts excursions, field trips, parent support meetings and our on-line forums.
- Providing social activities, including arts performances, visual arts presentations, seasonal parties, weekly park days and teen outings.
- Supporting families new to home education.
- Fostering a sense of community among those who are involved in home education or who are seeking education alternatives.
