Dr. Tonya Shearer To All Instructors
Dr. Tonya Shearer is a marine biologist and molecular ecologist whose research has focused on the use of genetic technology to assess coral reef health. She earned her PhD from the University of Buffalo in Biology after receiving her Master’s degree in Zoology from Louisiana State University. After spending over nine years working at Georgia Tech, first as a Postdoctoral Fellow and then as a Research Scientist, she is currently the owner and director of Discover Science Center, an informal science education center in Roswell designed to supplement the STEAM curriculum taught in K-12 schools and homeschool programs.
