Introduction to Psychology Mondays 12:30-1:25 PM Teacher: Angela Gable, she/her Course Cost: $330 with sliding scale offered*** Course Duration: 15 weeks Ages: 12+ Course Description: An introduction to Psychology at an upper school level. This class will cover famous figures as well as the history of Psychology, and conclude with new advancements in the field. We will also look at how classism, racism, and sexism have left many out of the discussion and how Psychology can be more inclusive going forward. ***NOTE: please read the following, reflect on your financial situation, and choose a price for my classes that makes sense for your family. I offer a sliding scale because I believe in maximizing accessibility and being a part of economic justice. $105 -unable to meet basic needs* -no car or can’t afford gas -unemployed/underemployed -unstable housing situation -qualify for gov’t assistance -no access to savings -limited access to support systems -no expendable income** $180 -meeting basic needs* is stressful but usually doable -usually have access to some form of transportation -employed or underemployed -stable housing situation -access to basic health care -might have access to a small amount of savings -limited expendable income** $255 -basic financial needs are regularly met -own or lease a car -own a home or rent a higher-end property -employed or do not need to work to meet needs -access to full health care -access to some savings -some expendable income** $330 -all items from the previous box are true -have the resources to pay this amount without financial strain In addition to the points above, consider paying less if you: -have immigration-related expenses -are an elder with limited financial support -are an unpaid community organizer -are a returning citizen, denied work due to incarceration history Consider paying more if you: -own investments, retirement accounts, or inherited money -travel recreationally -have access to family money and resources in times of need -work part-time (or not at all) by choice -have a relatively high degree of earning power due to education, gender, race, class, etc. even if not currently utilizing your earning power * food, housing, transportation ** money to buy a cup of coffee at a coffee shop, a movie ticket, a new item of clothing, etc.

Cancellation Policy

Refund Policy: The LEAD Refund policy for dropping a class is as follows: • Class canceled 1+ weeks before classes begin = full refund of class and LEAD fees. • Class canceled 1 week before OR after classes begin = no refund of LEAD fees. Refund of class fees is up to the discretion of the instructor. If, for some reason, a class you have signed up for is canceled by LEAD or the instructor (either before or after the start of classes), you will have the option of receiving a refund of your LEAD per-class fee or applying it to another class. These terms are subject to change per semester.
