STORYTIME FOR TEENS & TWEENS Thursdays 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Teacher: Joy Tanksley Course Cost: $250** Course Duration: 12 weeks Ages: 11+ Course Description: Picture books are a beautiful, powerful part of our literary tradition. The stories are often incredibly nuanced and complex and can provide the ideal springboard for in-depth literary discussion. So why do they often fall away from our curriculum as young people enter their tween/teen years? In this class, students will enjoy the cozy delight of listening to poignant, award-winning picture books read aloud. After each reading, we will engage in an exciting, high-level discussion of the book with a focus on building literary analysis, critical thinking, and group discussion skills in a safe, fun, and social environment. **NOTE: If you need financial assistance to enroll in this class, please email joytanksley@gmail.com for support.
